REVIEWS

Sara Wadington: The Curious Art of Dreaming by Sara Wadington takes you on a voyage to imagination land. Filled with beautiful images and dreamscapes, she reveals so much about life and beauty. Keeper Of Dreams, for example, takes you into a dreamy landscape where she unveils the wishes and thoughts of man, to live in peace and harmony. This book is also unique as her art work is included. Her drawings only highlight her amazing talent as an artist and wordsmith. I am sure that you will enjoy this collection of poetry very much.

"The Curious Art of Dreaming", by Sara Wadington. I loved these musings filled with insights about the sea, and woods, and the creatures that live therein. They have a certain dreamy nostalgia about things remembered from the past, but yet present here now through the writer’s imagination and pen. And sprinkled like magic dust throughout the book the author’s whimsical illustrations.

Having worked with Ms. Wadington (Palace Poets, volume III), I can attest to her intelligence and ability as a writer, poet and artist. Her book "The Curious Art Of Dreaming" is a gathering of all her talents into one extraordinary piece of art. The words paint a picture on the canvas of one’s mind and leaves us dreaming of the images she delivers with an eloquent passion only a true artist can deliver. There is an art to dreaming, and she has defined it for us perfectly within the pages of this book, and emphasized it with her art and doodles that grace its pages. Buy this chapbook and treat yourself to a curiosity rarely found on poetry shelves and dream with her, you won’t be sorry.

Dear Reader:

Sara Wadington, the third Palace Poet, and director of the recently birthed "Art Department", was born in New York City, far too late to really enjoy the sixties... ;) She spent most of her childhood in Huntington and now resides, out of necessity, in Montauk. She has had her watercolor doodle paintings in galleries and has two children's books she wrote and illustrated out there searching for a publisher. Extensive experience in working with eccentric artists, as well as children's theater, acting and production, as well as all sorts of other really odd jobs. Is Webmaster at QuillandParchment.com, and loves creating computer graphics and WebPage building. Enjoys nature hiking with her dog Harry on her off time.

Sara began writing poetry only three years ago, inspired by a poet she met at one of the now defunct writing sites, but her previous practice with prose is quite evident. She describes writing poetry as a "meditative" experience; here and now flowing into free verse, then "sculpted" into its final form. We think you will enjoy her special touch and embracive flair as you read these special moments of her life. We have! :) We have put together a special Volume here, showing some of Sara’s art as examples of the quality which we seek in our card department.

A Very Fine Wine

When I am blessed

I get just the smallest ethereal taste

Very heady and so sinuously delightful

Piquing the imagination of what could be

There amongst the others

They pale in your comparison

So tempting is the lure

To fill my glass with you

Yet so far out of my reach

So high up on the shelf

Sometimes fortune smiles on me

Granting me a moment

A teasing taste of your company..

But then you're gone

Disappeared back into the ethers

Leaving behind sweet memory

Something to be savored

Such extraordinary flavors

With the power to intoxicate my soul

I stand waiting with an empty glass

Upon the shores of time

Amidst the swirling storms of life

Now seeing the truth so clear

I fear I've been such a fool.

Wiping away a wayward tear

Holding up my glass to the sun

As it peeks through the cloudy gray winter sky

Warming sunbeams fall from the heavens above

Lighting up my life with a moment of bliss

I think of you and smile..

A toast to you my friend

For you've inspired so much in me

Forever may you shine

Here's to loves sweet dreams

Many blessings may your future see

Here's to a very fine wine!
