The Queen of the North
The queen of the North
Arrives with fanfare.
No silent stepper.
The train of her skirt swirls about her
As she haughtily casts
Her diamond bright magic
across the landscape.
Everything is encased
In the coldness of her heart.
Her beauty draws our eyes
Yet, we are paralyzed
by our inability
to move through the wonderland
she has created
her splendor startles our eyes
as we are captured
by her spells.
Her laughter rings
silently through our spirits
as we stumble helplessly
through her alchemy
and wish
This beauty were but a memory
of times past
Suddenly,
the king of the south
roars with laughter.
The heat of his breath
sends her robes
crashing around her feet.
Though we are relieved
at being freed of her spell
our hearts are saddened
as we survey her beauty
as it lays in destruction
Across the landscape.
The queen is dead
long live the king.

History of the 'Palace' Posted!
The new Mission/History page of the .biz site went up today. Having found a bunch of old photos, i guess i was inspired to write out what i could think of to go along with them. Quite a day of writing and uploading, whew!
With the new, to be advertised, site in its final stages, the redesigning of the .biz/.com sites has been put into overdrive!
The hardest work was done first, so there are just the informational pages left; Announcements, Invitations and Mailings.
Hope you are enjoying the stages of growth as we move into the new year with great hope and anticipation! :)
I'm exhausted... :P

Another Year of Palace Poets Begins!!! :)
Another year is upon us, and i have yet to purchase a good camera! LOL
Actually, this picture is used because it is the proof for Palace Poets, Volume XIII, indicating another dozen poets beginning to achieve a bit, small though it may now be, of fulfillment.
Another shipment day has come to a close, with today's packages including royalty checks, an order for more copies and one sale copy.
After a bit of file transfer adjustment, the new 'Mall' site is being built, and, after approval from the 'Palace', will receive a fair amount of advertising. To coincide with this additional site, the .biz and .com site have undergone renovations, hoping to make the surfing of them a more pleasurable experience. Single note card purchases have now become available for holidays, or no special reason whatsoever. The Palace Poets have been notified, so keep an eye on the posting pages for Valentine's Day greeting! :)
We poets here at the 'Palace' hope you continue to enjoy visits to the sample and posting pages, and feel free to send comments to the poet@poetrypalacegiftshop.biz
Good Day! :)

Submitting Poetry
Three or four poems will be plenty for a query. Poetry
MUST be submitted with
NO tabs, aligned left, in ariel ( other common fonts if you do not have ariel) font, with titles, in bold, on the first line of a page (or five spaces below the last line of the preceding poem), in one document. Poems in all CAPS will be deleted. Please do not have lines of over 40 characters (even those might have to be divided, and it would be far more comfortable if the poet did it before sending, probably on both sides of this adventure!) If this is too much work for you, that is fine; do not submit (I do not mean to sound cold, but the amount of work done here is ridiculous!).

We have a contract for single poetry submissions for People Say; a new volume will be released each year. If you have a poem that you think would be a great note card, please send it along with this contract to poet@poetrypalacegiftshop.biz. Please put “single submission” in the subject line.
Single Submission Contract
I have submitted this poem to be used in the note card catalog knowing that if used it cannot be sold or used elsewhere until it goes out of print. I understand that the catalog sales are for 'Palace' support and no royalties are paid, but that I will receive twenty-five cents for each note card purchased with my verse appearing on it. I understand that royalties are paid quarterly. I hereby agree to all Poetry Palace terms and understand Thomas Beal has all creative authority. The content of the poem cannot be changed without my permission, but the artwork, fonts etceteras to be used is dictated by the needs of Poetry Palace.
I _________________ agree to all the stipulations set forth by Poetry Palace.
